I had my hair cut by Julie and I am absolutely in love! Right off the bat you can tell that she is knowledgeable with all kinds of hair types and not to mention, is so sweet. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she worked with my hair type

to achieve my desired look. From start to finish, Julie thoroughly explained to me what she was doing, what products she was using and why, etc. She was so easy to talk to and made sure that I was comfortable during the whole process. I've been with Julie for a while and love her work. I usually get an all over color and cut - nothing complicated but it took me a while to find someone who will listen to what I want and give me what I ask for and not what they think I should have. Had a great experience with my Hairstylist Julie at the Kapolei Ulta. I haven't colored my hair for over 10 years. I also have always struggle with finding a stylist to cut my hair as curly hair isn't easy to cut. Julie was extremely pleasant, took her time to explain the process, constantly checked on me, and even answered questions about my daughter's hair who wasn't even there. I was referred by a good friend to go to ULTA when I wanted to do my hair. I heard rave reviews about a stylist named Julie. I booked an appointment (which was super easy) and made my way there. First impression was, that this salon was open and in view of shoppers lol. As soon as I got over that, I was good. What I liked about Julie was that she asked questions that helped her know what would look good on me. She listened. Unlike other stylists, they tend to "do it their way" which meant when I leave, my hair will be above the shoulders because they think that looks good on me.

But as for Julie at ULTA beauty:

I asked for something, and I got it. She was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. She even sent a "checkup" text to see how I liked it. Just got my first haircut in 4 years from Julie, and I can honestly say she is the best of the best!

A year ago I started my journey of wearing my hair naturally, and taking care of my curls. In doing so, it made me fearful, as most stylists I've seen didn't know how to properly care for or cut natural curls, and I didn't want my hair to be carelessly cut by someone who might not understand how much time and effort went into getting my hair where it is today. Well Julie, she's definitely something else! From start to finish, Julie was attentive and informative. She cared about my hair just as much as I did, if not: more! I never once felt like she was rushing to get the job done, even though she did things in a timely and efficient manner. Plus, she's a joy to talk to. Beautiful both inside and out I'm already scheduled to come back in three months for my next trim.

I cannot say enough about julie Chen's skill with wavy, curly hair! With Hawaii's modest humidity I prefer to take advantage of that and wear my hair natural most on the time. I usually have to "train" my hair cutter to capture my waves with graduated waves around my face and through the back of my long hair. Julie does a consistently great job!

Got my hair done by Julie Chen! She was really good of working with my type of hair. Polynesian style. My hair is medium height but I have so much thick hair. Julie help me style it and gave me the curls I wanted. "I recommend JULIE CHEN" she is off Monday and Wednesday's.
